A Guide to Preventing Tooth Decay in Babies

Tooth decay may happen any time and in any age. Its first noticeable signs are white spots along the gum line and on the front of the teeth. While these spots may be hard to see at first, especially for babies if there are no proper tools and equipment, you could still do something to keep them from occurring. Below are some important things that you should do.

  1. Take care of your oral health.

  1. Take care of your baby’s oral health, too!

During the first 12 months of your newborn, you can keep his mouth clean by using a clean washcloth and wiping it to the gums. When he already has his first teeth, brush them gently with a tiny dot of fluoride toothpaste and a soft toothbrush, designed for babies.

In the next 36 months, practice brushing his teeth twice a day for two minutes. Like that when he was still less than a year old, use only a tiny dot of fluoride toothpaste. You can start by brushing before bedtime and after breakfast.
