Making Dental Crowns Easier

Posted by:

When someone hears they need to get a dental crown, the response usually isn’t one of excitement. That’s mainly because people think about the pain it’s going to cause and all of the time it’s going to take.

What if there were same day dental crowns that also wouldn’t require as much drilling or needles as a traditional crown?

With CEREC technology that is all possible, not to mention the fact that you’ll save money too.

Why CEREC?

CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetics Ceramic) allows dentists to make ceramic porcelain restorations in just one visit. When you visit Dr. Pat Crawford he will carefully explain the process and start by taking computerized photos of the tooth that needs repair.

From there, the computer generated software will create the image and tooth model that will be used to make the crown. A milling machine will then make the restoration in just about 15 minutes. There’s no need to send out the image and have a dental lab make the mold, leading to multiple visits. With CEREC, Same-Day Crowns make everyone’s life easier.

Why Patients are Choosing CEREC

Besides the basic convenience of just one visit and a lower cost all-around, here are the other reasons why patients are choosing CEREC over traditional crowns:

· No horrible taste

· Lower anxiety due to less visits

· CEREC is better because it allows dentists to remove tooth decay, restore tooth structure and repair the remaining tooth.

CEREC technology can also be used to make veneers. If this is something that you think may benefit you, be sure to ask Dr. Crawford when you make an appointment.

If for some reason CEREC technology is not right for you, it’s important to note that Dr. Crawford is the only Dental Crown Dentist in the area who is making zirconium crowns, which are much stronger than regular crowns. This is another option to discuss.
