At our clinic, we’re dedicated to offering comprehensive general dentistry services that cover all aspects of oral health. Our general practice dentistry is rooted in the belief that preventive care is key to maintaining your overall dental health. Whether it’s preserving your smile or enhancing it, we’re here to provide the care you deserve.
Dental Exams & Cleanings
Regular exams and cleanings are recommended every six months, or every year at the most.
Our dental offices use the latest technology, we use a camera to show the inside of your mouth and diagnose cavities, and hygiene concerns, such as plaque and tartar or gum disease.
Your hygienist will also check the surfaces of your teeth and gums. Armed with special tools, we’ll tackle tough tartar and plaque that can’t be removed at home. Polishing, flossing, and possibly fluoride treatments will finish up your cleaning. A typical exam and cleaning takes 60 minutes, so we’ll have you in and out quickly with a healthy, clean smile.
This meticulous approach underscores the depth of our general dentistry procedures, ensuring comprehensive care. By offering local general dentistry services, we make it convenient for our community to access top-tier oral healthcare. Our commitment to excellence means every visit enhances your overall dental health, maintaining and improving your smile.
Air Abrasion (Drill-less Dentistry)
No one likes cavities, but we make filling them as quick and painless as possible. Our clinic is equipped with the latest air abrasion (drill-less dentistry) tools that spray sand particles at the tooth to get rid of cavities. It removes the smeal layer, which then helps the tooth bond better when getting a filling. This method of drill-less dentistry is great for young or sensitive patients.
Dental Fillings
Dental fillings are designed to treat small holes from a fracture or a cavity in a tooth. A cavity is when decay-causing bacteria come into contact with sugars and starches from the food we eat and what we drink. This forms an acid that attacks the tooth’s surface enamel, causing it to lose minerals. When you frequently consume food and drinks that contain high amounts of sugar and starch, the enamel continues to break down, causing white spots where minerals have been lost. This is an early sign of decalcification, which is able to be reversed with regular brushing and flossing, along with a prescription-based fluoride toothpaste or hydroxyapatite toothpaste used on a regular basis. This will also require reducing to a lower acid diet.
Dr. Crawford no longer uses amalgam (mercury) fillings as this is not healthy for the body. He uses 3M bonding and white composite resin, cured with our ultradent curing light to restore your tooth.
Fluoride Treatments
Fluoride is a natural mineral that reinforces tooth enamel and helps prevent tooth decay. You probably use fluoride toothpaste or drink fluoridated water, but we may recommend fluoride treatment in our dental offices for added protection.
Fluoride treatments are easy to apply, and we offer a variety of flavors to choose from. Our hygienist will apply this to you or your child’s teeth after a dental cleaning. Everyone can benefit from these treatments, but they’re especially helpful for patients who have difficulty brushing regularly, receding gums causing sensitivity, or conditions like dry mouth, which can increase the chance of cavities.
Crowns
A dental crown is a “cap” that restores a severely decayed, fractured, weak, or worn down tooth. Dr. Crawford’s dental philosophy is to save as much natural and healthy tooth structure as possible. He will almost always treat the affected tooth area and replace it with a 3/4 crown instead of cutting away your entire tooth. Sometimes, a full crown is required due to insurance coverage, and if the tooth is badly damaged, leaving no other options to cover the entire tooth. If you have an anterior (front) tooth that needs a crown, that will always be a full crown.
Crowns are made from a variety of materials, including porcelain or zirconia, each having its own benefits. Crowns are done in one appointment using our cerec mills to create a custom restoration to fit your needs.

Dental Bridges
A dental bridge is a restorative solution that uses prosthetic teeth to “bridge” the gaps created by missing teeth. They can be crafted from various materials like porcelain or zirconia, which are matched in size, shape, and color to blend seamlessly with your natural teeth.
Bridges are fixed in place and usually rely on crowns placed on the adjacent teeth. They can also be attached to dental implants. To be successful long-term, bridges require healthy teeth on either side of the gap, so any pre-existing dental issues should be treated first.
In many cases, Dr. Crawford can fabricate a bridge in office, which means you will have two appointments, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
Implants
Dental implants are an effective solution for replacing lost teeth. The procedure involves surgically implanting a titanium cylinder or screw into the jawbone, which then fuses with the bone over a few months. Once the site has healed, a crown is securely fixed to the implant, creating a restored tooth that looks and feels just like a natural tooth.
Dr. Pat Crawford specializes in exceptional dental implants that can be placed immediately after extraction. This allows you to get an implant in one sitting.
Dentures
If you’ve lost some or all of your teeth, we can restore your smile with attractive removable dentures. Full or partial dentures make it easier to eat, chew, and speak clearly. Plus they support the cheeks and lips for a more youthful appearance and prevent other teeth from shifting.
Dr. Crawford sets his own denture teeth here in the office, allowing the patient to choose the shape and color of their soon-to-be new smile. Then we send the model to a third-party lab that creates the dentures/partials. This process takes about 10 – 14 days for dentures/partials to get back to us.
Root Canal Treatment
When the soft inner pulp of your tooth is infected, the only option other than extraction is a root canal. This treatment prevents the spread of infection by removing the infected pulp tissue and reinforces the tooth’s structure with a crown.
The process is simple. After numbing the area around the tooth, we create an opening and carefully clean the inner tooth to remove bacteria and dead or dying tissue. Once the area is thoroughly disinfected, the inside of the tooth is shaped, filled, and sealed.
Other general dentistry providers need to refer root canal patients to specialists. We do one-appointment root canals with advanced wave-one technology. Dr. Crawford has an outstanding record of successful root canals done in less time with better results than you’ll find anywhere else in Kenosha, WI.
Tooth Extractions
Extractions are minimally invasive and usually cause little to no pain to the patient. Dr. Crawford can pull teeth on children and adults using local anesthetic. We do not put children or adult patients under anesthesia for extractions.
The most common tooth extractions are for wisdom teeth. But if you have teeth that are badly damaged from trauma, infection, or gum disease, extraction may be necessary. Regardless of the reason, we can make extraction easy and painless for you.
Veneers
Dental veneers are like a makeover for your teeth. These slim, sturdy porcelain shells are custom-made to cover the front of a tooth, restoring teeth with chips, cracks, and stains. Because they are translucent, they mimic natural tooth enamel, giving you a bright, natural smile.
While we can do veneers in a single visit, some require two appointments. However, the results can mean a great smile that lasts a lifetime.
